Iranians have a number of special traditions to rejoice the New Year. They prepare special foods and snacks, wear best of their cloths, hold parties, go on trips, clean their houses, etc.
The people welcome their guests in Nowruz by providing a mixture of different nuts – called Ajil in Persian language.
However, 2021 Nowruz is different from the previous years because of the pandemic.
Gatherings are not allowed and people will congratulate each other on the phone or through video calls; and also there are no plans for going on trips.
Here are some photos of the shops preparing mixed nuts or Ajil for the New Year.
